For Rangiora veterinary clinics

Your nearest aftercare provider — same-day collection that lifts the load from your nurses and reflects your clinic’s standard of care.

  • Zero staff labour. Same-day collection on our scheduled route and medical-grade CliniCareBag™ transport bags restocked free — your team hands over and gets back to patients.
  • Flat-rate pricing, no scales. One price by bag size, not weight — no weighing a pet in front of a grieving family, and typically 20–50% less than per-kilogram providers.
  • A revenue share, not a cost. Your clinic shares in every keepsake sale through our catalogue and pet-owner portal — aftercare becomes a profit centre, not a chore.
  • A reputation that reflects yours. The last touchpoint a family has with your clinic is professional, tracked, and dignified — never a rubbish bag.

For Rangiora pet owners

  • Never mixed up. Every cremation runs through our individually numbered 23-step process, and you can follow your pet’s journey online from collection to return.
  • One simple price. Flat-rate by bag size — no surprise per-kilogram bills — across three service tiers, with your instructions read and respected.
  • A keepsake worth keeping. Premium scatter box, paw print, and fur locket, plus an online memorial and keepsakes handcrafted by New Zealand artisans.
  • Returned your way. Ashes returned to your veterinary clinic, or hand-delivered to your home in Rangiora with Signature Private.

Dignity first — and real support for your family

Never a rubbish bag

Many providers still collect pets in plastic garbage bags. We never do. Every pet travels in a medical-grade, individually numbered CliniCareBag™ — dignified from the very first moment in our care.

Grief support for the whole family

Losing a pet is hard at any age. We provide grief resources, booklets, and quality-of-life guides — including gentle, age-appropriate materials to help children understand and process the loss of a much-loved companion.

Need a home euthanasia vet first?

For many families the most peaceful goodbye happens at home, before aftercare begins. If you’re looking for an in-home euthanasia vet across Rangiora, North Canterbury, and Christchurch, Dr Janine at Loved Pets comes to you, at your pace — and families she helps flow straight into PetAftercare, so the whole journey stays gentle and connected.

For the North Canterbury community

  • Local craft, not imports. Our keepsake catalogue is made by New Zealand artists and makers — rimu and native-timber boxes, ceramic urns, jewellery in jade and sterling silver.
  • A free service every quarter. Through our “Koha” programme we provide one full Heritage Return cremation each quarter, free, for a North Canterbury family who needs it.
  • Makers we want to hear from. If you work in timber, ceramic, glass, or metal and make pieces worthy of a memorial, we are always looking to add local artisans to the catalogue.

Pet cremation in Rangiora — common questions

How much does pet cremation cost in Rangiora?
The cost of pet cremation depends on your pet's size and the level of service you choose. PetAftercare uses simple flat-rate pricing by pet size — not per kilogram — so there are no surprise weight-based bills. We offer three service tiers: an eco-friendly shared cremation, an individual cremation with your pet's ashes returned to your clinic, and a private individual cremation hand-delivered to your home. For exact pricing for your dog, cat, or other companion animal, contact us or ask your Rangiora veterinary clinic.
Will I get my own pet's ashes back?
Yes. Our individual cremation tiers (Heritage Return and Signature Private) return your own pet's ashes to you. Every cremation runs through an individually numbered 23-step process, tracked from collection to return, so pets are never mixed up. Essential Care is a shared cremation where ashes are not returned.
How long does pet cremation take?
It depends on the tier: Signature Private is a 48-hour express service, Heritage Return is around 5 days, and Essential Care is a 7–10 day turnaround. Ashes are returned to your veterinary clinic or hand-delivered to your Rangiora home.
Do you cremate both dogs and cats?
Yes — we care for dogs, cats, and other companion animals. Flat-rate pricing is based on pet size, and every pet is treated with the same individually tracked, dignified process.
Do I have to change vets to use PetAftercare?
No. Any veterinary clinic across Rangiora and the Waimakariri can offer PetAftercare — you don't need to switch clinics. Just ask your veterinary team for PetAftercare when the time comes.
What happens to my pet after they leave the vet?
Your clinic places your pet into a medical-grade CliniCareBag™ and notifies us. We collect same-day on our scheduled Rangiora route, and every cremation is carried out at our own Rangiora facility — never handed to a wholesale crematorium.
